December 10, 1998 Oracle Corporation Reports Profits Up 46 Percent in Record Second Quarter
Total Revenue Tops $2 Billion; EPS, $0.28

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Dec. 10, 1998 - Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL) today announced record second quarter results for the period ended November 30, 1998. Revenues for the second quarter increased 27 percent (28 percent in local currencies) to $2.1 billion from $1.6 billion in the same period last year. Net income for the period increased 46 percent to $274 million, or $0.28 per share, compared to net income of $187 million, or $0.19 per share, in the same period last year.

Revenue from Oracle's two businesses, database and applications, totaled $8.0 billion in the last four quarters. The database business, including database, tools and related services, grew 25 percent to $1.5 billion in revenues for the quarter and $5.8 billion for the last four quarters, continuing its position as the largest database business in the world. REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Sept. 10, 1998 - Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL) today announced record first quarter results for the period ended August 31, 1998. Revenues for the first quarter increased 28 percent (33 percent in local currencies) to $1.7 billion from $1.4 billion in the same period last year. Net income for the period increased 30 percent to $195 million, or $0.20 per share, compared to net income of $150 million, or $0.15 per share, in the same period last year, excluding one-time charges for the acquisitions of Treasury Services Corporation and Navio Communications, Inc. Giving effect to the one-time charges, net income for the previous period was $8 million.

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Aug. 17, 1998 - Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL) today announced key executive appointments to further extend its focus and capabilities in both its applications and database businesses. George Roberts, senior vice president and an eight year Oracle veteran, was named to lead North American Sales. This appointment expands Mr. Roberts' responsibility to include all database and related product sales in the U.S. and Canada. Edward Sanderson, senior vice president of Americas Services, will expand his responsibilities to include Latin America and Brazil. REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., June 17, 1998 - Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL) today announced record fiscal year results for the period ended May 31, 1998. Oracle's two businesses, database and applications, totaled $7.1 billion in annual revenues. The database business, including database, tools and related services, reported $5.3 billion for fiscal year 1998, and grew at 17 percent compared to the prior year, continuing its position as the largest database business in the world. The applications business and related services grew 58 percent for the year, totaling $1.8 billion in annual revenues, continuing its position as the second largest applications business in the world.

Revenues for the fourth quarter increased 24 percent (28 percent in local currencies) to $2.4 billion from $1.9 billion in the same period last year. REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., March 12, 1998 - Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL) today reported results for the quarter ended February 28, 1998. Revenues increased 27 percent (33 percent in local currencies) to $1,749 million from $1,373 million in the same period last year. Net income for the period was $215 million, or $0.22 per share, compared to net income of $193 million, or $0.19 per share, in the same period of fiscal 1997 (excluding the one-time $37 million charge related to the Datalogix acquisition). For the first nine months of fiscal 1998, revenues increased 27 percent to $4,731 million from $3,736 million in the same period last year. Net income for the nine-month period was $552 million, or $0.55 per share, compared to net income of $485 million, or $0.48 per share, excluding one-time charges related to acquisitions in fiscal 1997 and fiscal 1998.
